i had a conversation with a pioneer at yosemite national park recently.
she was aware that i do not attend the meetings anymore.
in the past she did not speak to me, but now she did.
The elders are pushing my son to get baptized at 13. I said no, not until he is 18. (HA-ha, I want him to become a good public speaker first) It is too big of a commitment / decision for a 13 YO.
They ask do I lack faith in the org., I ask them, do you ever remember the FDS lying to us? That usually ends the conversation.

I hear many JW boards use the term "Active Apostate". Dubs are not creative, so it must come from the hall.

It was a great feeling to read the mag and see NEW light. Now, they just recycle the same garbage again and again. Even comics are more interesting.

Yes, come January, there will be one for the public and another for active apostates and Rank and File.

It is hard to believe that everyone is acting like there have not been any changes, others must see the timeline on lies running out.

From a conversation i had with an elder, he mentioned that 50% of the brothers don't beleive in the teaching of the watchtower but of course no one dares to say a word against the FDS.
Wow, 50%. Many are drones following the orders of the queen.
With a weak foundation, I wonder how long the house will stand?
I see it crumbling at some point unless changes are made.
i've recently begun challenging my beliefs.
all my beliefs, including those ingrained in me as one raised "in the truth".. a few years ago i sought therapy for chronic depression and my treatment was remarkably successful.
as a side effect, things that used to "work" for me no longer fit with the new emotional pathways and strengths i was developing.
I should point out... I haven't left the organization. I'm still learning and I've gotten into a routine that (because of my family) I don't want to alter just yet.
Irony of ironies, I've had perfect meeting attendance for the last 5 1/2 years. I used to be a pioneer. And I'm still going to the meeting tomorrow night because I'm not ready to give up my friends.
I have found that many attending meetings now, elders and pioneers do not believe the garbage. Some times I think this is a joke that there are so many that did EVERYTHING that I did (FS, meetings, BS) for more than 20 years and do NOT see the light. The new WT arrangement is further proff of us belonging to a cult.
The 1914 change was the last straw for me (in 1995). I new the truth was subjective from the FDS. I suggest u read books by ray franz for more understanding on the org.
